A NEWPORT man who was robbed in broad daylight said he was disgusted, after police told him no further action would be taken against the twopeople who were arrested.

Craig Cullen 23, was robbed of his watch in Charles Street, Newport, on the afternoon of June 4.

Although he was not injured in the incident, he said the fact that it happened in broad daylight with people walking by had left him too nervous to go out into the city during the day.

A 30-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident, but Mr Cullen said police told him on Thursday that no further action would be taken.

Mr Cullen said: "I'm really disgusted about it. The police said they couldn't pursue it because the CCTV cameras were facing the wrong way at the time and that's it really.

They gave me my stuff back and said sorry they couldn't do anything more.

“What scares me is this person is still out there and he could do it again."

A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed the file was passed to the Crown Prosecution Service and prosecutors decided to take no further action.

And yet, if Craig Cullen on hearing this news had swore out loud, they would have arrested him on the spot and charged him with a public order offense.

What a topsy-turvey world it's becoming!!!
